Flashback to 1968 summer songs

Welcome to the summer of 2013. How about a little flashback to 1968? If you were around, you’ll know all these songs. There’s a good chance you’ll know them anyway. If not, here’s some great find a song classics.

The Rascals, formerly known at The Young Rascals, made number 2 with A Beautiful Morning in the spring of 1968.  This was the first song I thought of because — it IS a beautiful morning here!

Still like a good Stoned Soul Picnic? Here’s The 5th Dimension with a number one song from July 1968. Speaking of still — married leaders Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr are still together and still performing. Don’t miss them if you get a chance.

As the days grow shorter I Can’t Stop Dancing with Archie Bell & The Drells. This song hit number 12 in August. Dance right into the fall.
